Emina identifies herself as a problem solver, always curious to look at things from various perspectives in a search for the most optimal solution.

As a graduate of Management & Organization and a person with strong interest in data analytics, finding the right combination of both, led her career in the direction of Human Resources in the IT industry. For the past 7 years she’s been focused on developing people related strategies and processes in high growth, international environments that are scaling fast.

While people behavior remains the biggest mystery of all, Emina strongly believes that they are the driving force of each organization and it is only them who can transform it into a successful business (with the help of smart tools and data).

Her experience in the HR field started as an individual contributor, partnering with business to support organizational growth and ensure people processes are aligned with the company’s strategy. She focused mainly on business (sales, customer success and sales engineering) teams, developing organizational architectures, performance management programs and compensation models with a goal to hire, onboard and build sustainable teams throughout 7 regions globally.

Transitioning into a leadership role of two HR teams, one dedicated for Latin America and North America region and the other to Business teams globally, has been one of the biggest challenges in her professional career so far. Becoming a people leader and managing teams of 20 HR professionals opened up new avenues of learning for Emina where she learned the importance of strong teamwork, mentorship and knowledge sharing.

She is currently in a role of a Chief Human Potential Officer in Mistral, a growing, engineering oriented company who puts people first and trusts them to do their best and lead the way to success. Her day-to-day is painted with strategic discussions with the Management team on creating and implementing people strategies that both support business growth but keep the “human” in the center of it. Those discussions are than translated to HR programs that Emina is developing with her HR team.

Emina believes that maintaining curiosity and eagerness to learn throughout the years is the key to establishing yourself as a successful professional and individual. Therefore, she is a member of 5 a.m. club and she uses those extra hours in a day to do some physical exercising or expend her knowledge in the area of people analytics, essentialism, planning and organization, people leadership etc.

When she is not in her HR suit, Emina enjoys traveling, dancing and adrenalin activities like skydiving. Sometimes it takes going out of our comfort zone to truly get to know our limits and then push them.
